IRC anyone?

So, how're ya'll going? Been a long while since I was in town, but I'm back after a long search for just where I could find some good roleplayers. Anyhow, down to business:

Anyone up for some form of IRC game in the coming year? Not sure if any are already being run or not, but I'm very keen to get a group together or join an existing bunch if it's possible. Not sure what the RP scene is like around here lately so let me know if I'm talking to an empty room.

Anyhow, not sure about specifics. Possibly D&D, possibly just random fantasy, maybe even some sort of Sci-fi. Very light rules I think, if any (by rules I mean a rulebook and die rolls; common sense will always be there). Would be happy to try some GM (or 'narrator' as many online RP's call them now) with a kind of freeform system where, if it's possible and realistic, it's fine. Not all that keen on getting out the character sheets and stats and dice bots.

That being said, I'm really open to everything. Who's keen?

As far as I know, the only IRC roleplaying group around here consists of Aikanaro, Loreseeker, and yours truly. We play a few times a week, and use a variety of systems (mostly free and fairly rules-lite) - we don't really freeform much these days. We've got a couple of games running at the moment (we take turns GMing), with more in the pipelines - their flavours and tones vary wildly (currently there's a Superheroes game, a Planescape game, a Pan's Labyrinth-inspired Dark Fantasy, and so on).

Anyways, I flicked you a PM.

 

To be more specific, the systems we most use are The Pool, Don't Rest Your Head, Shadows (not so much any more), and Sufficiently Advanced (although I'd be quite happy to never use this one again).

We have plans to play Archipelago and Geiger Counter in the near future, as well as vague half-abandoned plans to play The Shadow of Yesterday.

 

Just to add a few more flavours to the mix: Gibsonian Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Random High Violence games - as DM said, all sorts of themes.

Planning a Depressive Space game too - although not sure when it will kick off, if at all.

Game times mostly evenings NZ and Australia.

 

Hi guys! If you are using the SP irc channel I might be interested. I had a few forum games every now and then, but they tend to die on me quite quickly.

Right now I'm only actively participating in a Wave-based oWoD game. It's not a bad system, but it's kinda clunky.

 

We use our own channels on the same server as the SP ones.
