[IMG] Use Algernon's Cloak, charm every bandit you see while running, and have them shoot at him. Eventually he quits, but he may increase your scalp collection first

Why not just charm Tazok, surround him with your characters and then all attack him?

    That's how I beat Greywolf.

    Ah, gotcha.

Actually, I just charmed Taughoz Khosann (sp?) and got him to kill his own bandits. Surprisingly he got all but the last one before succumbing.

No wonder I always had such trouble with him.

wow, that's cheap. LOL. Good and thoughtful, but cheap. I wish I'd though of that when I was soloing, but I ended up just taking him toe to toe.

Ever since I discovered the joys of Algernon's Cloak, I've been exploiting the hell out of this game. I got the better of Greywolf and Taughoz very easily with this wonderful little item, although its affect seems to wear off quicker on some foes than others. But one really, really cool trick (i.e. cheating but I don't want to call it that) was to charm someone for a second and have them unequip their weapon so when the charm wins off they're trying to hit you with their fist. I got Mulahey with this cheesier-than-thou tactic and I'm planning to use it as many times as I can.

I wonder if Sarevok can be charmed in this way at the end of the game or if his magic resistance renders him immune to it?

Hey, at least I'm honest enough to admit I'm cheating.

    No it's not!

Charm = order them to drop their weapon

    What's wrong with that? :D

It's less cheesy than fake talk and the money glitch in BG2 though... They made the item for a purpose. It should have been given ten charges and then it wouldn't be cheesy.

I mostly use charm because of the dialogue, you really get to know more about the operation if you charm the the leaders outside.

OK, first of all, how does one get a charmed character to drop their weapon? I've charmed people, and it's not like you have access to their inventory...

Secondly, while you certainly could order a charmed person to drop their weapon, one would assume they'd try to get it back (or get some weapon of any type) before trying to attack you or your party, who are obviously armed.

Aldeth: when you charm a character, click on them with the mouse and their weapons appear at the bottom of the screen, just the same as they do if you click on an NPC. You don't get access to the rest of their items but you can click on a slot where they don't have a weapon equipped and this will have the effect of unequipping the weapon.

When I did this with Greywolf, he attacked me unarmed for a round or two then re-equipped his weapon. But I managed to get a few good hits in on him before he did this.
