Well I haven't gotten to her yet (just recently got ToB) but I notice people have trouble with her immunity to timestop then her timestop/g whirlwind combo. I have an interesting thought though....why not take a protection from magic scroll all the way to her and use it on her? It makes you immune to all magic, even beneficial kind, and since timestop targets yourself, wouldn't it stop it? Just a fun little thought. Pain in the butt to try though unless you CLUA it in. I assume most of you don't drag that stupid scroll all the way to Mel at least.

timestop does not affect you. the caster is affected and gains control over time and moves incredible fast (you can see monster still use som special abs or contingencies are fired).

I know that timestop targets yourself, that's why I'm saying, use a protection from magic scroll on Mel and she is not affected by her own timestop spell. Am I right?

Well, it targets herself, but the change inflicted doesn't affect herself as the target, but quite a range of time and space. It's like this: when you have a bigass dragon you can't cast spells on him (normally), but you could create a wall all around him, for example. Death from suffocating is not magical

A good idea for Melissana might be melee fighters engaging her and mages (robe of vecna etc) casting lower resistance. Three castings and she's done unless your level is 40, where it would take two. Then you lower her throws with whatever you have (even 1st level Doom, opposite to bless) and start the real fun.

Well yeah, but I wanted to be creative. Oh well, it was fun letting my imagination get away from me. I can't use the lower resist idea anyway, it's only me (Ranger/Cleric multi) and Jaheria (not there yet, but we'll see). So far it's been a cakewalk, ironskins, greater whirlwind, energy blades, deva and elemental prince.
