    Ok, so I am going to take the Tutu plunge. I need to get in touch with by BG1 roots, so I have everything ready to go...but I'm a little confused on the install order. I think I might have it right, so I'll post how *I* currently think the install order is supposed to be...and you can correct me if I'm wrong. :)

    In my mind, the install order is:
    • BG1
    • TotSC
    • TotSC Patch
    • BG1 WeiDU mods
    • BG2
    • ToB
    • Tob Patch
    • BG2 WeiDU mods
    • Tutu
    • Tutu WeiDU mods (if any)
    Is that the correct order?
    Also, I plan on installing a lot of mods which include: Kelsey, Ease-of-Use, Ascension, Tactics, Banter Packs, Flirt Packs, Dungeon-Be-Gone, Oversight, Item Upgrade, Quest Packs, Solaufein, The Lure of the Sirine's Call, and some BG1 mods too...if any good BG1 mods exist… :p

    So are all those mods I know that most of them will be compatible with each other, but what about The Lure of the Sirine's Call and some of the BG1 mods? :rolling:

    Hello -

    Not quite. You won't be installing BG1 mods. You'll install Tutu mods, after Tutu is installed. Here's the order:

    * BG1
    * TotSC
    * TotSC Patch
    * BG1 Baldurdash Fixpack + Game Text Update
    * BG2
    * ToB
    * Tob Patch
    * BG2 Baldurdash Fixpack + Game Text Update
    * Tutu or EasyTutu
    * BG2 WeiDU mods
    * Tutu WeiDU mods

    I'll plug EasyTutu here since it is a pretty painless install. Also, it won't touch your BG2 install (whereas traditional Tutu is usually installed over BG2), and will allow you to uninstall BG1 after EasyTutu is up and running. And one last note: if you use EasyTutu and choose to install parts of Tutufix, do not install the core bug fixes. EasyTutu includes the core bug fixes already.

    Note that if you use traditional Tutu, you will install it over your BG2 installation. In that case, BG2 mods should not be installed until you are done with traditional Tutu and have reverted back to BG2.

    As for Tutu mods, visit:

    The Gibberlings Three
    Pocket Plane Group

    Gibberlings 3 has Tutu Tweak Pack, a great mod for Tutu which allows you to tweak the game to your liking (a lot of ease-of-use-style features). Pocket Plane has BG1 GUI, Tutufix, and some great NPCs (plus Sirine's call).

    As for mod install order for Tutu, install Tutufix first. Install Tutu Tweaks next to last, and BG1 GUI last. Install any other Tutu mods in between Tutufix and Tutu Tweaks.

    Have fun!

    No BG1 or BG2 mods; some might interfere with Tutu's installation. Rather, you should install BG1 & TotSC, patch it, install BG2 & ToB, patch that, install Tutu, and then any Tutu mods you want. If you want to play BG2 as well, you should create a duplicate installation and install the BG2 mods you want there so you can play them.

    I can't speak for EasyTutu, though.

    Ok, so I must have been misinformed, ro just plain dislexic, because I was under the influance that BG Tutu did several things, mainly it made the BG1 engine the same as BG2's, as well as play with all of the SoA/ToB classes/kits...but I also thought that it modified BG2 too.

    So, if I am not mistaken (again)...if I use the EasyTutu to make BG1 all nice and shiny, I can still have all the BG2 mods of my choice...and once I am done playing through BG1, I will still have to create a new game in BG2 that will, at that point, no longer have any ties to Tutu? Please tell me I got it right this time! :confused: :rolling:

    Hello -

    The part about using the BG2 engine (kits, higher resolutions, etc.) for BG1 is exactly right. But Tutu (and EasyTutu) do not alter your BG2 playing experience.

    Yes, pretty much. Think of it this way: if you weren't using any mods or total conversions like Tutu/EasyTutu, you would have two installations - BG1 and BG2. You'd play your game in BG1, win, and you'd use your final save to import into BG2 and continue. With EasyTutu, it's the exact same scenario, except that your two installations are EasyTutu and BG2 (instead of vanilla BG1 and BG2). Each of those separate installations can be modded to your taste (Tutu mods on EasyTutu, BG2 mods on BG2).

    With traditonal Tutu, your BG2 installation is modified such that it plays BG1 using the BG2 engine. So, you install Tutu and whatever Tutu mods you want. You play BG1, win, and then uninstall all the Tutu mods and Tutu itself so that you can play BG2. Then you'd install whatever BG2 mods you want, import your Tutu final save, and play BG2.
