Installation Problems

    Hi all!

    I'll cut this short so I can get back to trying to sort this problem out!

    I want to try and re-install BG2, but whenever I click the Setup file it asks me if I want to uninstall BG2. I click ok. It runs through from 0 - 100% in like... less than a second, then goes off. If I click the Setup file again, the exact same thing happens.

    I have gotten rid of every file I can see and cleaned my registry of all BG2 related entries. Yet to no avail.

    Anyone else ever had this problem or has any ideas on how to fix it?

    The only reason I can think of is that you still have registry entries which point to BG2...are you sure you've cleaned your registry out thoroughly? A single entry could be causing all this trouble.

    Or...you could just try and see if it is shown as installed in your Add/Remove Programs list. If it is, then obviously, it is still having some registry entries. If not, I have no idea what to do about your problem. :confused: :confused: :confused:

    Hi, thanks for the reply :) .

    I am pretty sure that I thoroughly cleaned my registry. But could you confirm? :S

    The path that I went to was H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ===> SOFTWARE ===> And then deleted the Bioware folders.

    Does it enter any other entries in different locations do you know? :confused:

    HAve you installed TOB also? Something like that happened to me when I uninstalled TOB and BG2, But I solved it deleting the folder.

    I've had a problem similar to this one, except it was with BG and IW. I had deleted the folders without uninstalling, so now the 2 games are forever holding space, unable to uninstall them because I deleted the unistaller for them!
