    Do you think that there is a surefire way to tell if somebody is insane? If so, what do you think it would be?

    If someone is really insane you will notice it. It is not like they are alittle odd, it is like they are stark raving mad if they are truly sick. Kinda hard to miss. If you do miss it they are probably not insane enough to be labeled as such. :)

    We used to go to a restaurant called Crazy Chef Sato's, and they explained the name on the menu thusly:

    "It's said that 8 out of 10 people are normal, one is a genius and one is crazy. Now, I don't want to be like everyone else because that's boring, and since I don't want to brag and call myself a genius, I must be crazy!"

    Here's a good definition from good ol' Joseph Heller in Catch-22:
    If you want to get out [of the war] then you have to prove that you're crazy. But if you're crazy, then you can't possibly want to do something rational like get out of the war. So, if you try to use that to get home, then you must not be crazy. That's the Catch-22!
    It's paraphrased, but you get the general idea.

    1) Talks to self and replies, often argues. Sometimes refers to self in third or second person.

    2) Laughs for no reason and doesn't realise/understand why they are

    3) Talks to animals and inanimate objects and even holds a conversation.

    4) Sees inanimate things move suspiciously

    5) Thinks things are out to get them.

    6) Communicates in a mix of languages, often made up, and noises such as clicks, purrs and growls.

    7) Claims to be fine and everyone else has the problems.

    8) Computers are their best friends.

    Do these make an insane person?
