[IMG] Where is the best info for newbies outside the manual? Certain items, such as non-magical gems and jewelry, are not discussed in the manual and I wonder if I should hold onto them or sell them (pearl necklace for instance shows no magical capabilities..hold or sell?). I certainly don't want to waste people's time posting newbie questions here (as most seem pretty advanced). Any help would be most grateful as I flounder through the City and wonder how you can afford to buy anything in the Adventurers Mart.

Have no fear of posting "newbie" questions here...

First there's a very nice search capabilty on these boards, so you might want to start there.

As far as gems/jewelry, they're mainly for selling for gold, but there are a few rare gems that can be used for other reasons, so you might want to hold on to some of the rare ones...

Oh, and very shortly you will have money coming out of your ears... :)

No one is going to mind giving you a helping hand or reading your posts. In fact, it just might give us all something to do until the IWD expansion :)

Normal gems, necklaces, rings that are non-magical should be sold so you can start to build up your required amount of gold to help find and save Imoen.

Buying items from the Adventurers Mart will take time. Hit De'Arnise Hold, you'll get lots of gold from that adventure and get you on your way to buying some items you've been drooling over.

    Syl...

[IMG] Thanks for the info! Nice and refreshing to hit a site that actually helps! Being my first REAL jump into RPG (usually play DiabloII, C&C Red Alert, Age of Kings), seems like a great game...although the help given here is a bonus. BTW, search engine rocks!
    Thanks!

    Simple rule of thumb

If you have to 'identify' something (if the item has a blue hue) then it is most likely magical, and you may want to consider keeping it.
