  1. In BG1 at the moment, I have a solo fighter,. She has just hit the experience cap of 890000. After I complete BG1, if I import her into ToB, will she retain her 130000-odd experience, and consequently be able to level up quicker, or will she be put down to 89000 because she is level 7?

IIRC importing into ToB bumps up lower level characters and gives them some useful equipment to begin with. If it didn't, I think you'd be horribly outmatched from the outset. :) New chars in SoA start at about the same level as your pc I think!

    Hi,

If you only have BG1 and an intact xp cap you will exit out of BG1 at 89,000 and import into SOA (with or without TOB) at the same xp/lvl.

If you have removed the xp cap and are higher than 89,000 you will be reset down to 89,000 I think (never tried this - read about it on Bioware FAQ) (is this what you are talking about?)

If you have the BG1 expansion TOTSC, and have reached its xp cap of 161,000 then you will have 161,000 after importing into SOA.

If you have less than 89,000 when you import to SOA you will be bumped up to 89,000. e.g lvl 1 character from BG1 will be bumped up to lvl X (89,000 xp for class)

Now I am wondering whether you actually have TOTSC installed as well, re-reading your post, its not clear. I am not sure what happens if you import from BG1 with TOTSC with say 130,000 xp, whether you keep the 130,000, whether you are put down to 89,000 or whether you are bumped upt to 161,000.

Try it and see and post back to let us know.

    Cheers,

    WittyNewt.

If you read the manuel you will see that TOSC Cgars import with as much as exp. as they earned AFTER the 890000, so he would get 1300000 or whatever he said he had.

  6. I think the basic outcome of this confusing topic is that I am going to be starting SOA at level 7 when I should be level 9 or thereabouts. Oh well...
