Alright, so you lose all items and spells, but what about experience and statistics? At the very least, do we get to keep the enhanced stats gleamed from the tomes?

I'm not into the 25 in all stats trick, but there should be some special reward for slogging through all of Baldur's Gate, clearing every map, and not to mention all that senseless random commoner slaughtering... ahh the joys of role playing a madman...

Anyone else kill that damn Arabelle you meet in the woods and her owner? Man are cows tough, but I killed it I did! Yesssssss....

You get to keep your stats, your name and your experience. But that's about it. There are also tricks to keep the stuff you import with your character from BG1...

Indeed, you keep the stats and XP.... so the stats that you have after killing Sarevok, with the increasement the tomes gave... You don't have any equimpment.... however, you find back some stuff in the first part of BG2, some other items from the game can be bought or earned as reward or loot.

    Ahhh ok.

Alright then, one last question. If you start BG2 from scratch, what level do you start as?

You start at Level 7. I believe for all Classes. I'm not quite sure about dual class character's though.

It would be more accurate to say that you start at 89000 experience (which would mean that starting level differs somewhat depending on which class you choose).

Oh, and if you have a multi-classed character, the experience is divided evenly between the classes.

WHen you are not multi-classed, you normally start at level 7. Thief's (and I thought Bards also) start one level higher at level 8.

Also a great advantage is that if you're dual classed you get to use all of your weapon points where you want them, meaning in most cases, grandmastery right off the bat. Halforc? Who needs them? I already have my human fighter with 19 str, con, and dex :D. And if you have TotSC you can start with 161,000. All of these things are nice, but you don't need them, they just make you glad you brought your character through BG1 first.
