are they any mods out there that register the damage done to a character by displaying a number over the top of the damaged character's head (like in NWN and most other RPGs)?? I'm looking only for this, hopefully there's something out there??? thanks

[IMG] seriously? with all of the amazing mods out there i find it hard to believe no one's ever done anything like this..it would be so easy to tell how bad your character's condition is... if no one's ever done such a thing, it would be really nice if someone did ...

While you are playing you can press the TAB key, and you will see each character hp and remaning hp.

I hope that this is what you are looking for!

PST had something like that, with the numbers showing above a creature's head. However I really think this was hard coded into the game, and as such I seriously doubt there's any way to create a mod that would reproduce the effect in any other IE game. Which, to answer your question, is probably why no one's tried it yet :)

You can't have it pop up the damage number when hit, but you can keep track of how much your character has left with the TAB key. Personally, any time one of my characters gets hit, my eyes involuntarily dart to the message window to see how much it was for. That's the only place you can see exactly how much damage they took from a specific hit.

As Felinoid mentioned, damage taken and received is displayed in the dialogue window. I don't know of any mod that floats it above peoples' heads too; the scripting would probably slow down the game a lot and not really give much benefit.

If I remember correctly, the Tab key only works with ToB.

That's true, tab only displays your party's HPs (and highlights containers and doors) with ToB installed.
