Of course not. All you want to do is lay in obtrusive spots and whine about how you are so bored.

It's a bit boring. Nothing ever happens in this song.

If you want softer rock music, try Dredg.

But it's not rock music. It's Indie music. If you don't like this song, then you don't like Indie music. If you don't like Indie music then you officially have bad taste. Glad we got that straightened out.

Nah im with Barmy, this song is great, and i love the band, they come from my home city :) just LOVE them. Buying the new album in a couple days. The thing about this song, is it keeps you on edge for the whole song, waiting for the climax they build up to, yet it doesnt come, which makes you wanna listen to the song again and again.

The only Snow Patrol song I like is Spitting games, at least that one has some tempo. Unlike the ones linked here, these are just slow.

Barmy, the genre is called Indie Rock. ;)

Snow Patrol obviously play rock music, even if it is uninteresting stuf like Coldplays.

Not to say that they cannot make good songs. The second one you posted is quite nice.

Well aye, if you want to be officla about it then I gues you are right. But they're really considered two different genres with 'proper' rock being your Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nirvana's etc. and Indie being your Snow Patrol's , Kasabians, Coldplay's, Feeder's etc. I prefer Inide as it's more melodic and relaxing. I don't like anything that's too loud and aggressive.

The next step up from rock is metal, which is a major no-no.

It's a silly generalisation to say that all "Indie" music is great. "Indie" just means independent. If you say that all music made by people who are not signed up to big labels is great, then you are paying more attention to the status of the artist rather than listening to the music. Especially if you stop listening to them when they "sell out".

Lol, Indie is just a genre of music, slow and melodic, quite lyricy.

    From Wikipedia:

Indie rock is a genre of alternative rock that primarily exists in the independent underground music scene. The term is sometimes used interchangeably with underground music as a whole, though more specifically implies that the music meets the criterion of being rock, as opposed to indie pop or other possible match-ups. These criteria vary from an emphasis on rock instrumentation (electric guitars, bass guitar, live drums, and vocals) to more abstract (and debatable) rockist constructions of authenticity.

"Indie rock" is shorthand for "independent rock", which stems from the fact the artists are generally signed to independent record labels, rather than major record labels. They may also be on no label at all. It is not strictly a genre of music (although the term is often used to reference the sound of specific bands such as Pavement and the bands they have influenced), but is often used as an umbrella term covering a wide range of artists and styles, connected by some degree of allegiance to the values of underground culture, and (usually) describable as rock music. Genres or subgenres often associated with indie rock include lo-fi, post-rock, garage punk, emo, sadcore, C86, twee pop, and math rock, to list but a few; other related (and sometimes overlapping) categories include shoegazing and indie pop.

Typically, indie artists place a premium on maintaining complete control of their music and careers, releasing albums on their independent record labels (sometimes their own) and relying on touring, word-of-mouth, and airplay on independent or college radio stations for promotion. Some of its more popular artists, however, may end up moving to major labels, though often on favorable terms won by their prior independent success.

Indie rock is not, in my opinion, a genre of music. Rather, it is a philosophy and/or description of the way your music is managed. Indie music can sound like anything at all and can be really good or really horrible.

 Wow...something insightful from Harby? :skeptic:

I actually have to agree with you one this one Harbs. :thumb: Likening a band primarily because they are an "underground" band and hating them once they sell out is stupid. :rolling:
