Ideas for an expansion

    This isn't a thread about whether or not there's going to be an expansion, ... I know that's already been beaten to death and therefore against the rules.

    I'm just eliciting ideas for what would make for a good continuation after Isair and Madae get their sorry hides dragged to Limbo. It might give Westley Weimer and those other mod-making enthusiasts food for thought.

    My idea for the climax of an expansion to IWD2, having to confront a Xixecal. A Xixecal is a colossal sized-abomination with a challenge rating of 39 found in the D&D epic level handbook.
    It also tends to have a few White Dragons around for company.

    So anyway, Auril somehow had this Xixecal as a child but being disgusted with it, sealed it away into an underground ice cavern. In the same Epic Level Handbook, there is also an epic level priestess of Auril. I don't remember her name offhand. Anyway, in her ambition and desire to prove her worth to Auril, she releases the Xixecal with the idea of controlling it and having it plunge the whole area into the deepest of winters.

    Of course, there has to plenty for the party to do before they can get powerful enough to take on a Xixecal. That's where I'm still wondering ...

    Alternative climaxes are certainly welcome of course.

    I'd like an expansion along the lines of TOB - where the party can pick up true epic level abilities as they advance through the levels. I'd also like some more of the kind of roleplaying you got in BG I and II. And maybe a few less "errand boy" quests starting the game off. Start epic and continue from there.

    I was kind of disappointed that the epic levels weren't really reached in IWD II but hoped they were leaving the idea open for possible expansion packs.

    And I agree a Xixecal would make a great enemy although considering the thing's about the size of a mountain I'm not sure how they'd manage to fit it onto the screen! Dragons barely fit and a Xixecal is a lot bigger than any dragon.

    [​IMG] How about Auril or a priestess tricks the party into helping her to release Xixecal then you have to fight him or whatever.

    [​IMG] i think the avatar class(when you reach more than 30th level you will transform to your higher form) and the monk kick attacks...and lots of character kits like samurai and ninja..

    I'd like to see some follow-up on the whole fiasco with the mayor of Bremen and the priest of Helm that arranged for the holy water to be sent to I&M.
    Clearly, those two are unfit to hold the positions of power they have been entrusted with, and perhaps there's something more malign and sinister going on there.. Could be they knew what such an act would result in, and perhaps they wished a war. And for what reasons? Are they corrupt enemy agents, double-crossing Ten Towns, possessed by some previously banished demon from a few decades back, or something else.
    I think there's a real opportunity for a good intrigue-based game there with lots of possibilities for high-level combat.
    I&M have fallen, but what have they left behind?

    [​IMG] Expansion based uppon the tale of the Lost Followers.6 chapters not really long.You will meet
    the tyrants from the Holy avenger`s battle.The expansion will be more like a forestory,in a far-off land the six villians were rampaging in a kingdom.The duergar king,the mages,the monk,the
    archer and Veldron Kaine the last boss.When you beat him he will turn into a monster...no idea what exactly but...probably a gigantic scorpion.
    During the travells you will have the option to save the paladin who will gives you the HA.There will be two dragons,a servants of the famale sorceres.There will be a huge dungeon in the Underdark until you meet Kaervas Death`s head,and
    plenty of duergars,drows and deep gnomes.Hidden quests and doors like in BG2 maybe?What do you think???

    I think an expansion about the lost followers would be a good idea. They were decent villains who didn't get used enough.
