[IMG] How to keep people from reloading? Well I have a solution! Now I'm not sure that this would work but here it goes. To keep people from constantly reloading NWN sould do the following. When some one starts a new game as a player they get a random code that they have to type in every time they get on the net to play with every one. So they can do that as long as they like and all. But when their char. dies the code is set to invaild and can no longer be loaded. The code could be used over again with some one else because lets face it, thiers only so many different codes you can use intell it repeats it's self some time along the line. But I think that this would work. It would stop peopel from reloading their char. every time he or she dies.

[IMG] In a multiplayer game the only version that matters is on the DMs server. If a player is dead on that he/she is dead, no matter how many times the player reloads on their own computer.

    FYI:

There is no save/load button in multiplayer. If a player dies, he dead. If he should log off/reboot and log back on, he's still dead and will have to be resurrected, respawn or reroll.

In single player you can save/load whenever you want.

    Hope this helps...;)

    No, of course not!

If you die in ALFA (so we're talking about online play in ALFA, not just any online game, for there it can be quite different) you have 24 real life hours (that's about 8 days game time) to be resurrected.

You also have the option of choosing not to be resurrected and go create a new character right away.

If you log off and log on the next day when you are not dead, you of course are still alive.

...and you also have the option of playing such that you simply don't die :p

But seriously, I believe default for multiplayer mode is like in Diablo, when you die you are respawned in a safe location. If I'm not all wrong you get to keep most of your stuff as well. Thank the gods that ALFA doesn't use this!

In NWN the DM can choose what he wants when a character dies. Examples:

    - Respawn with XP loss
    - Respawn with equipment loss
    - Respawn in a different place
    - Some or all of the above
    - Respawn with no loss at all
    - Roll a new character
    - Give the player some time to get resurrected by friends
    - Become a squirrel and haunt the woods forever! :)
