[IMG] I am running the game on Windows ME also. I get that message occasionally. I do have problems with the game locking up alot. There are times where I have to reboot every 10 minutes and other times where I can play for hours before it locks up. One lock up almost cost me my game. It locked up while I was coming out of a save and when I rebooted my saved profile was gone. Luckily the game autosaved at the same time and I was able to start that up and save again.

Its not ment for Win2000, it can run on Win2000, but its not recommended as its very buggy, call the technical support line.

  5. Er, Eggman, Windows Millenium Edition (which is what the original post dealt with), and Windows 2000 are two different things.

Millenium Edition is the next in the 3.1, 95, 98... series.

Windows 2000 is a version of NT that is for networked PC's.

Roded, I found this on the Interplay IWD tech support page (http://www.interplay.com/support/icewind/index.html). Maybe it will help. If not I would contact Interplay tech support and ask them for help.

This was in reference to "assertion failed at..." errors.
    All other line numbers:
The majority of all other Assertion errors seem to be caused when the game is unable to locate a file that is needed or the file is corrupted. To correct this you will want to try the following:

Clean your cdrom drive with a lense cleaner and be sure that all dust, dirt, or glue has been cleaned from the cd's surface.
Be sure to delete the games cache (delete all files within {games folder}\CACHE\DATA\). When you restart, the program will recreate the cache and should repair the missing file.
If the previous two steps do not work you will want to try to use an earlier save game as well. There have ben a few reports of a corrupted save game causing this type of error.

    Assertion problems:

I'm using Win98 but I still had Assertion problems. I ended up re-installing the game and that did the trick.

Nothing happens to your save games so feel free to do so whenever you want. Keep in mind you may have to re-install the patch if you want it.

    Cheers
