[IMG] Man, is it just me or are these two fights REALLY tough!
First the slavers in front of Hendak with 2 tough wizards, then the Beastmaster (fighter/druid?) immune to everything for a good while and Tabathia that regenerates really fast and has killer attacks. Not to mention all the other animals!!

Man this fight used to be a joke, and now it's a real challenge - had to use some pretty clever trciks to get past this one!!

    Good one Sikret.

I really had a tough time with both of these. These were among the first quests I did in the game, and my guys were fairly low level with really crappy gear and spell selection. The slavers were particularly tough.

These were both fights that I allowed myself the option to scale back from "core" difficulty to "normal."

On what difficulty setting did you play when you were facing them? I never had a problem with the slavers. The beastmaster was a problem a few times, until I figured out how to deal with him and his beasties.

Can't say I had a problem with the Beastmaster. Persistance against him will pay off in the end.

The slavers were...interesting. Especially after my party 'forgot' the way back into the sewers. However, this did make the encounter more interesting due to having to struggle through with no sleep. I found it surprisingly enjoyable (apart from when the charmed duegar mage decided to set off a Skull Trap in my party's faces).

I think part of the reason that the slavers were so challenging for me is because I entered through the front door, and had to work my way back to the boss fight (can't remember his name). So I was pretty well spent on resources by the time I got to that fight, and I really had a tough time with it (with virtually no buffs, healing spells/potions, etc to help me through). The constant attacks from assassins were unexpected, and served to wreak havoc :)

i was playing core rules, and the beastmaster was really tough, guess my party's low level made it tougher
