    Hey hey

Right, I've been trying to download a couple of those patchy things and I'm a bit stuck.

How do you do it? I've been trying the sub-races one but I really can't work it. Can somebody give me instructions on how to install it?

Please bear in mind that I'm really dumb when it comes to this kind of thing so please make it really basic!

    Cheers
    Silver xxx

[IMG] Right-click on the download link, Save Target As, download it to your IWD2 installation directory. Then you'll need to explode the archived file; see http://www.sorcerers.net/Info/FAQ/index.php#6

After that, you just run the mod's executable.

[IMG] What exactly didn't you understand? I don't see how I can put it more clearly than that...

Those are instructions for downloading files, from the selected page on Sorcerer's Place, using Internet Explorer, to your computer.

You'll need to install WinRAR to be able to unpack the compressed files you download, which is explained in the FAQ I linked.

Take a look at the readme.txt bleedme. That mod has 9 sub-races but can only add a maximum of 6 iirc. So you should choose in advance the sub-races you want so that when that black-window comes up you choose appropriately.

The choosing options within the window itself should be self-explainatory.

Nope, it comes up all about 'press gamex to set x in directory' and all that stuff.

I DID read the readme, I'm not THAT dumb!!! :)

Here's what I would do. I'm not very up on computers, but this is how I'd install a mod. I use WINRAR on Windows2K. YMMV

    1. Download mod.
    2. Open zipped file - it might look like a stack of colored books.
    3. Read a readme if provided, for more instructions.
    4. Look on the menu bar for Extract.
    5. Click on Extract and you will be putting the zipped file(s) in the approproate directory on your computer. There is a drop down box for choices. Possibly C:bad:Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil
    6. When done extracting (about a minute), click on My Computer>Local Drive (C)>Program Files>Atari>Temple of Elemental Evil. In here should be the .exe file for installing the mod.
    7. Watch the program do it's thing. Some fill the screen with words and some don't.
    8. When finished installing, try the game. If done correctly, you should be able to see the mod changes.
