[IMG] 'ello there! I'm a longtime fan of Infinity based games (in fact, I can't think of any I haven't played over and over again).

However, just recently, I reloaded IWD2 for kicks, and despite my best efforts, I can NOT for the life of me figure out how to do this one thing.

That one thing would be making use of items that have once-per-day spell casting abilities. As I stated, I might be an idiot, but I just can't seem to get it down... any guidance, puh-lease?

Well, I may be an idiot, but...cast, rest, repeat? Unless I'm missing something...

Welcome to BoM, by the way.

I think that his problem is that he can't find the button to actually trigger these items.

sbakker, remember that in IWD2, the player toolbars are configurable, but simply right clicking over any of the existing buttons, then left clicking on the button you want to bring to the top.

The "Use Item" button is the one you're looking for, I think. It looks like a little backpack.

Anyone actually reading the manual? Well I didn'T too  but I guess game-mechanics and interface should be told there.

[rant] I usually put a copy of a new game manual in the bathroom so I can delve into it when I am otherwise "occupied" in there but the piece of crap they passed off as a manual for this game deserved to be flushed rather than read. In the first place you need a freaking maginifying glass to read the mice type and in the second place it began to fall apart the very first time I opened it. This was a huge dissapointment after the great manuals that every other IE game shipped with!!!![end rant]

BTW the information on how to customize the interface is indeed found in that piece of crap manual provided you haven't lost the pages for it yet and it also points out that you can also use hot keys F1-F12 to access them - something I never knew before today...(and something that might be useful for some of the skill intensive classes that "run out of room" on that toolbar... :o

Well, Wanderon, ol' buddy, a big part of the problem is the downsized boxes that games now ship in. With such small boxes, you are stuck with a very small footprint in which to fit a manual. And if you want to keep the manual from being a couple inches thick, you have to use smaller fonts.

Yes, it sucks bigtime. I wish that all games would ship with their manuals in PDF format on their disks, so that players could have a much more readable manual, even if it does have to be in an electronic format.

Well its my opinion that this particular manual was designed for a "big box" and when they found out it was going to ship in a "small box" they just "shrunk it" rather than reformat it to a more readable design to save bucks and the results are IMNSHO in fact "unreadable" at least for old farts like me... ;)

I pretty much hate the pdf manual becuase I don't have a puter in the bathroom yet... :D

I think they should offer a real full sized manual with a "collectors edition" and then NOT make that edition ONLY available for online sale or at least offer a variety of shipping options - I can get packages shipped by US mail for instance but have a very difficult time getting fed-ex or UPS as I am not home the days they operate most of the time and they cannot just "leave" it on my doorstep. As I recall thats why I was not able to get the collectors edition of ID2... :(

I would also go for a "free" pdf manual on disk or the option to "purchase" a "real one"... :D
