I can't get screenshotting to work (fixed)

I am trying to take a screenshot of when Ravel is talking to the TO, after you've exited her maze. I'm playing the classic version of Placescape Torment, bought from GoG, fully modded, on Windows 10.

Normally when I press PrntScr, a bmp screenshot appears in the game's ScrnShot folder. However, for some reason this doesn't happen during a cutscene like this.

If I try to save a normal PrntScr screenshot normally, either by pasting into MS Paint, or by letting Dropbox capture it, it turns out I screenshotted my desktop, not the game.

If I try to record video with Radeon Relive, or to capture a screenshot with Fraps, this fails.

If I try to play the game in windowed mode by disabling Fullscreen in the .ini, the game won't start. (This is a separate issue I'd like to solve regardless of the screenshot issue!)

    Any advice?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, dialogs too. I remember now, but it's been years. As to that guide, I'd already read it. Irfanview screenshot capture also captured the desktop instead of the game.

I figured it out, though, eventually. If anyone ever googles the problem in the future and ends up here: the issue is in what ddraw method the game uses exactly. The ddrawfix mentioned as point 6 in the "fully modded" guide offers 3 possible fixes:
    Code:
    setup-ddrawfix.exe] WeiDU version 23700

    Install Component [DDrawFix]?
[R]e-install, [N]o Change, ninstall, [Q]uit or choose one:
1] Force DirectDraw Emulation (currently installed)
2] Force DirectDraw Emulation and Cursor Artifact Toggle
     3] Use WineD3D's DDraw Library
The third one permitted me to screenshot the game in any of the normal ways, and to record video of it. However, it does slow down the game a lot at least at some points - initial loading game starting time increased 5 times for me - and it makes it pretty much impossible to alt-tab out properly. I found it workable with two monitors, though.

Still, since I don't normally need screenshotting I'll go back to method 1, now that I got the screenshot I wanted.

Honestly, at this point shelling out a few bucks for the EE makes more sense than still bothering with the original version.

    I strongly disagree.

I have EE. The current Classic version I play I got by purchasing EE from GoG (doesn't work with Steam, they only give you EE for the same price, which is one of the many reasons I recommend people buy old games from GoG and not Steam.) I've played through EE as well, and Classic with Quinn's fixes is still better and more comprehensively fixed. Yes, EE copied much of that very detailed and thorough work, but did so sloppily. Moreover, Classic doesn't have the potential for the new and game-breaking Maze reset bug. A few QoL improvements and faster loading times don't make up for that, for me.

Besides, I have a collection of savegames I want to keep being able to access.

What do you mean? Are you perhaps mistakenly assuming I'm talking about EE?
