How to use items?

    [​IMG] Hi all! This will probably be the most stupid question on the board, but how do I use items?
    I have just started playing BGII and I am in the first dungeon. I have collected the Power Crystals and I want to use them on the glass bubbles in the right room (I am sure of that). I have been clicking everywhere, but nothing works. Got open Jaheira's cell though and gave the Activate thingy to the Sewer Golem. Why can't I use this item?

    [​IMG] aww, how sweet, someone more bewilder than i...ok, just click on the object you wish to manipulate (whilst standing beside it) and it should work...if you have the relavent object in your inventory...if not read the manual again honey, i hope that helps, it's all straight forward from there on in (yeah right)
    oh, almost forgot, the bubbles with a circle type icon widget thingy when you pass the mouse over them are the only useable ones...

    I can't remember that far back ! But I think you may need to place whatever it is you need to use in your 'quick item slots' and then you can then click on them in the normal screen mode - or click on the satchel picture. . . . you'll get it.

    You just need to have the items on you and be close enough to whichever machine you want to use. Close enough meaning that your MAIN character has to stand right next to the machine/whatever you want to use.

    Thank you for answering so quickly, both of you, but... when I stand next to the bubble and click, only the poor beings in it start talking to me. And the item doesn't go into the quick item slot. (Told you, I've tried everything)
    Most strange is that I have completed BGI without difficulties, and now I'm stuck in the first whatever dungeon...

    But don't quit BG2 now, there is more to come.
    In other cases, where you get items, they are automatically put into your inventory.
