How to prevent Haer'Dalis duel with me?

    About the little situation that Haer'dalis challenges me to a duel over Aerie. If I agree, I lose Aerie. If I decline, I lose Haer'Dalis. I assume that I cant get Haer back after he leaves. So are there any strategies I can use to keep both characters since I want to bring them to the end? (without losing aerie romance) Does it work to kill him, then raise him from the dead? I tried this and the script didnt kick in yet...maybe it was delayed? Any way, if anyone could be helpful....

    In the dialogue have Aerie choose between you and the bastard. Otherwise she will choose him and tell you the news.

    How did that happen I beat the game with Haer-Dalis and the Aerie romance and never had a such thing, or even a hint towards it.

    From what I understand, if your romancing of Aerie has progressed to a certain point *before* you save Haerry, he won't compete for her.

    Which doesn't help our author of this topic.

    Both are prety stoooopid and useless chrs... Why need a Cleric/Mage when Viconia is the best cleric and Imoen is the second best mage... After all you can make her Intelligence 18, so why bothering taking Aerie...

    And Haer'Dalis? So fu*kin' what? He has good stats for Fighter? But who needs Fighter when you can get Anomen with Gauntlets of Dexterity and make him a tanker? Piece of sh*t...

    I'm choosing to just ignore the comment, and let someone else give you a friendly slap. :rolleyes:

    Haer'Dalis rocked my world, I think he's one of the most original characters in the game, and when I was romancing Aerie (after ditching Jaheira, *moaner*) I never had any problems. But as Chevalier said, let Aerie choose. :)

    Does the Happy Party download thingie work in this situation? If it should, you can always do that, and rationalize that you simply convinced Haer'Dalis not to get worked up about it, or that he found another person.

    Chevalier - Haer'Dalis? A bastard? Don't tell me our Paladin has gotten worked up over Chaotic Neutral characters and Tieflings as well! ;) :p

    Personally, I don't care much about what you have said regarding the BG2 characters, it is your right. But the swearing is not a welcome sight, please try not to use these kinds of words, and besides it is one of the "No can do's" under the forum rules. Other than that, I have nothing against you.

    [​IMG] A game guide for charactor creation in a magazine I once read stated
    "....the Blade cane be summed up in the simple equasion: Bard + uselessness + next to useless fighter = Blade"

    personally I couldent agree more. The only good feature of a bard (lore) and they severly water it down, only half that of regular bards I belive.
    Blades are no real fighters either. the spell selection isnt great either. choose a thief/mage instead.

    I think Aerie is one of the hottest chicks in the game :D and I would hate it for a scoundrel to try and take her from me.
