[IMG] I don't know if this is old news but I found that I can get both the MercyKiller Belt and the Blue Stone from the mindflayer (I forget the name) in the underdark. Sneak attack him then before he turns hostile, talk to him and you get the belt. Then toast him and get the stone. I haven't tried this for other quests. Is this a bug?

Hmm, I wanted to keep the stone for my cleric, and of course the Ilithid was very frustrated with my refusal to hand over the stone, and he considered my wizard a tasty snack, so he turned hostile. After I chopped him to pieces I found the mercykiller's belt on his corpse.

    Seems normal enough...

Or you could simply state that you won't give it back when he rewards you...

[IMG] Correct. I was thinking that these techniques will work with other quests as well. Some situations (can't recall though) don't allow you to get the quest item after killing the owner.

You're right, but mind flayers are evil rubbery purple octopus heads that need to die die die!

It won't work with Kruntur in Goblinland...
