how to beat Zil-t`yor

    I cant beat the beholder Zil-t`yor?
    It seems impossible. is there any tactics to use?

    Yeah, he's tough because he tends to just dimiss your entire party with that gaze.

    Remember, he's on the upper walkway, and you can walk a little bit south. Drop in every single area effect spell that you have at your disposal, and get all your people to the south, away from him.

    Use the absolute highest THAC0 arrows and bolts and darts and hammers that anyone has.

    Finger of Death.

    The miracle cure for most problems you encounter, and that Beholder is no exception. Just wait until the second round before you cast it. The beholder tends to automatically disrupt spell-casting in the initial round.

    But I'll grant you that I'm a tad worried about that encounter with my solo priest. Well... I'll deal with it when I get there. ;)

    Really? People found him tough? I dunno, I killed him really easily, and then had trouble with all his friends, so I tried again and dealt with his friends first at the south where the beholder is off screen and then approached him. Killed him really quickly again... <shrug>
