How many different classes have you played with?

Have you completed BG2 with (nearly) every class / creature? Would you say the game was worth replaying as a different class you have not tried already?

I haven´t finished it with every class.
Bards and Druids just dont cut it for me.

But I think I have finished the game atleast once with every other class and not one of my games have been boring. And I think that I even would have fun if I played a Bard or Druid.
    Not that I would though.

    I've finished it with a fighter, a fighter/mage, a fighter/mage/thief, a mage/thief and a thief.

Hmmm... Looking at that would you guess I quite like playing fighters, mages and thieves? :)

David, then I say that ou should play the game as a Fighter/Thief. Then a mage. But first of all, a Wizard-Slayer!!

    Darn! I've also played as a fighter/thief.

I knew I'd missed something out.

I've done the game with a sorcerer, an archer, an assasin, a swashbuckler, a vanilla thief and a blade. My next project is a pure half-elven NE wizardslayer.

    And yes, I'm a thief-nut :D

Good question, Sarevok. Actually, the only reason I replay BG2 is to use new classes and races. I first finished the game with a half-elf sorcerer, then I had to see how a human ranger-cleric worked.

I haven't finished the game with all classes or races, but I've tried them out for a few chapters. The only class I haven't played yet is paladin. There's just something about all that lawfulness that doesn't appeal to me.

Holy crap, Velve, you've played this game an awful lot. I am humbled. Now I can see why somebody would subject themselves to stuff like the Tactics mod. If I played throught the game like 60+ times, I'd probably play it too.

I've only played through it with a kensai, an inquisitor, and a monk. I did a swashbuckler halfway, and sort of did a half assed solo with a f/m/t. My goal is to eventually play through with every class, but that is a ways away yet.

Yeah, I mayhap played it a lot, but it is, don't kill me for this, kinda boring right now, but I hafta get through one more time, this time with a WIZARD-SLAYER!!

Also, I haven't counted the times that I didn't finish, so you may double the played times. Also, I have tried several classes but some are just plain boring, like the kensai, all the druids and the paladins. Paladins would be pussies if they didn't have the, to quote Shura, Cheesomyr +6.

I've soloed every class and kit at least once, but I've only managed to get five through ToB (lack of interest).

The game was worth playing again for most of them, but after I played the Blade (which had been the last kit in the list) everything else lost its appeal.

The kit had everything I could hope for in a class short of level 9 wizard-only spells (damn Alacrity, Comet and Dragon's Breath :p ), and had the best powergaming potential of the lot. It's also one of the classes where RP-ing and powergaming go together, since you can't do one without the other. :p

Heh, totally not true, I did an RP, (I was a fighter convinced he was a monk  )... yea... suffice to say getting through the game was hard :( BUUTT, after not playing for a few months and comming back, in the period ofa month, i've played through with everything but a bard/druid, but I've never gotten through all of ToB with any of them, I got as far as Amkathran and moved on :(

I've only played the game with class/warrior combos, warriors, monks or sorcerers apart from the druid/fighter whom I despise (besides if I wanted one there is a rather attractive half-elf lady that's with you from the start).

The spawn of the lord of murder needs to be a warrior of some type. I've yet to play the game through as a Dwarf and I think I'll take a fighter/cleric through.

I don't know if I'd play the entire game again just to try out a different character (although I just played it through with a solo thief to see what it was like... But I'm not sure I'd want to do it *again*).

Mainly when I replay the game now it's to try out new mods and new NPCs. Sometimes I take a different class along for the PC but that's just the icing on the cake. It's the new areas, quests and items that I really play it for.

I finished with a Monk and a Swashbuckler. Am now trying out the Kensai/Mage. Its going pretty well so far. I think it is well worth it to try many different classes and combinations of party members. There are a lot of quests etc. I also sided with Bohdi for the first time and discovered that there are some interesting quests there too.

one of the most powerful characters I've played is the Cavalier, and that;s just using weapons that were nothing special (belm, Dragon slayer etc) so what if Carsomyr dispels magic on hit and gives 50% MR, sure it's great against mages but in a fighter vs Paladin fight what difference would it make? very little that's what.

And BTW I always SK my Paladin to Chaotic Good.

this character is cheesy right from Irenicus's dungeon.

Not really. I played the game many times, but in more than 60% of the cases I played with a Sorcerer or a single/multi/dual-classed Wizard (Mage or Conjurer usually). It worthed replaying even with this narrow variety of classes.

Am I the only one who plays all over again just to find out how powerful characters in BG2 can really be?
Discovering new things is just second in my agenda. :)
I guess you get like that after having played too much Diablo 2.
