How long will Jaheira and Khalid stick around?

    I've read that if you don't pick them up at the FAI "fast enough" they leave forever.

    How long do you have to grab these two Harpers?

    They leave in Chapter 3. So don't whack Mulahey until you've got them.

    Or, whack them both as soon as you see them and get a free invisibility potion. Very helpful for getting either the first wand of fire or the manual of bodily health early on.

    If they're so "essential" as NPCs, it would be cool if there were a 2nd way to get them after Chapter 3... maybe they could find you in Baldur's Gate or something. You were becoming famous after all, and they couldn't help but wonder what the hell happened to Gorion, who never showed up.
