How do you kill Yxunomei in IWD 1 chapter 2?

I cant get past Yzomeni, she just resists magic and weapons are ineffective?? My party is 2 fighters, 1 illusionist, 1 thief/fighter 1 mage, 1 priest. This is the 2nd party I've used and dont want to start again.

IIRC, I started off by casting several area-effect spells. Web and stinking cloud. I did this to keep her lackies from advancing, but to my surprise, she didn't move. Web will prevent her archers from firing, and stinking cloud will help keep them back if they make their saves from the web. I kept my entire party near the door and used only missile weapons. Take out her priests with your archers first and have your mages toss a fireball or 2 in there to take out the henchmen. Ice Storm and Snowball Swarm work great here as well. Since these are both elemental damage, she will be resistant, but not immune. I had a druid in my party and cast all sorts of fun offensive spells, but since you don't have one, stock up your mages. Have your archers pelt her with +2 arrows and don't attack her until she moves in on you.

Just dont go in to the room she is in.
Go in with one, finish the dialouges and then back up to the door that leads north and have your fighters guarding it preventing anyone from going through. Then have your priest cast healing and prot spells and the mages offensive spells. Your thief might have a bow and if so you should´ve found about 50 +2 arrows a couple of rooms back. Done and done.

Be sure to kill her first though since her lackeys are pretty easy.

 

Yxunomei hates fire. If you have any fire arrows or "Arrows of detonation" use them now. The returning axe you got from the torturer's room will hurt her too.
As Duke Etan said, backtrack to the outer room n try to make sure her entire company is blocked at the entrance.

 

Try to use Chromatic Orb because you can usually stun her. I don't know if she is weaker in girl form but that is the way I always got here. Stun here and then put a few summons in her lackeys' way then just hack her with weapons previously described and she's done.

 

I have always found her fairly straight forward, but it has to be done carefully. I usually have my party lined up near the doors. All with ranged weapons. There are some +2 Arrows you can use which help, I also seem to remember a +1bow and +1 arrow working together, but I could be wrong. Also, just before you get to her there is the hidden room where you find the +2 throwing axe. My fighetrs who can do damage concentrate on here and are usually just out of reach of the stinking cloud she summons. My others concentrate on the enemies that come at you from each side occasionally. If I get impatient I send in a fighet to attack her when she's weakened, but be careful of the traps though.

Also, get your priest to summon some skeletons as these can help to keep her busy for a while.

I found generally with IWD that ranged weapons were awesome and you could severely weaken any enemy before getting to them. You should have picked up an excellent bow just before hand as well.

How did you get to her in child form?Whenever I approach her the dialogue kicks in and then at the end of it theres hardly any transformation time lag. Or is there? Do you use Chromatic Orb to stun her?

 

You can approach her and still see her while she is in shadows and start casting then, but before the spells are done approach here, end the dialogue, pause it immediatly and tell your meleers to attack. It worked for me.

 

Your main fighter, more especially dwarven fighter with the Battleaxe of Defender step in front and engage in melee combat with her... Fire her with fire arrows and etc and she'll give up fastly...
