How do I change a pic to an *Icon*

    Does any one know how I can change a picture of a sword(32x32 pixils) into an Icon?

    Or better yet change the Type of file to Icon?

    Do I need any programs or anything like that? I run on a PC, Windows2000.

    I've only done it once before so i could be wrong. The picture should be in .bmp format, others (.jpg, .gif) may work but i can't be sure. Then save the pic to somewhere easy to get to e.g. C:bad:My documents\sword.bmp. Then right click on the icon you wish to change and select properties from the drop down menu. There should be a button for change icon. Click it and put in the file location and hey presto :D

    I didnt see any bottons for changing icon. What program should I use to save it?

    The icon has to be a shortcut, right click then selsct properties at the bottom is a button saying change icon then click browse to select your own icon, hey I think I'll do that.
