    [IMG] Attention shoppers:

Any good purchases on Boxing day? Here in Canada, (and I assume the US), storess have huge sales to get rid of some of the excess merchandise they didn't sell before Christmas so they don't have to count it New Years Eve.

I spent $600 that day. I bought a Refurbished Computer ($440 with extended warantee), but it didn't work. Later in the week I'm going to go back to get it fixed, replaced or my money back. I also bought Warcraft III Battle Chest, Rise of Nations Gold and Neverwinter Nights Platinum...

    Anyone else get anything good?

Got a Bose 5.1 home theatre speaker system - normally $1,000, on sale for under $600.

It's amazing the quality of sound you can get from such tiny speakers.

And now my wife is thrilled that we no longer have two horkin' big stereo speakers dominating the family room. :D

Not to rain on your parade since you like your Bose speakers, but reviews typically rate Bose sound quality poorly. Energy typically gets great reviews for small, affordable speakers, and I've had the older version of these for a few years now, and they're great. :)

Oh, sure - make me feel bad. :(

Seriously though - I was replacing speakers I'd had for over 15 years, so anything would be an upgrade. I didn't do as much research as I probably should have, but I have heard Bose speakers before and liked them. Plus, when listening to music, I tend to use headphones anyway, so these are mainly for home theatre.

But I'm getting way off-topic here. So, did anyone else get any good dealss?

I got 10% off an extra memory card for my digital camera, around 60% off the price of a camera bag, and surprisingly I actually managed to get one of the limited quantity (a.k.a. don't actually expect to find them in the store despite being one of the main deals advertised in the flyer) packages of blank DVDs marked down a whopping 75%.

Well here in Asdelaide, South Australia - but no where else in Austrlia - shops reopened at 12.01am on the 29th of January. So...My mum and sister got me up at 3.00 am in the morning (a cleverly devised time chosen by my sister to avoid the crowds but still get the bargains) to go shopping!!

I can assure everyone here that 3.00am is probably not the most inducive time for shopping. After 5 mins I bought a pair of board shorts and demanded to be taken home on the basis that I had already bought all the bargains I was going to.

By about 5am I was almost awake after reading a few oversized translated Russian Novels at borders and my sister informed me that it was ready to leave.
