Here's the latest about new stuff in in HotU:

    New prestige classes include:
    Plane shifter
    Weapon master
    Dwarven defender
Red dragon disciple (they get wings!)
    Champion of Torm.

You can now have 2 henchman with you
    Improved camera zoomability
    Level cap at 40
Some of the henchman from the previous campaigns will be returning
And of course the new tilesets

If you want to learn more about the story, I'd checkout the GameSpy preview.

Does anyone know what the requirements and perks are for these prestige classes? I figure they've taken then from 3.5 like the others. Anyone know? I'm a little ancy.

Two henchmen? Wow! As many as that? And to think that in BG you only had five henchmen and another dozen or so you could take if you wanted.

Sarcasm aside, is anyone really excited about HOTU? I imagine it as being the same as SOU with a few high levels thrown in for added appeal.

The dwarven defender was actually already in the 3.0 DMG. The Dragon Disciple was described in Tome and Blood, before it was mentioned in the 3.5 DMG.
The Champion of Torm isn't in the 3.5 books, but is from Defender of Faith.
I have no idea where they got the other two from, and they aren't in the 3.5 DMG either.

    Well, here are some requirements:
Dwarven Defender (from v3.0 DMG); Alignment: Any Lawful, Race: Dwarf, Base Attack Bonus: +7, Feats: Dodge, Endurance, Toughness.

Dragon Disciple (from v3.5 DMG); Race: Any nondragon, Skills: Knowledge (Arcana) 8 ranks, Languages: Draconic, Spellcasting: Ability to cast spells without preperation.

This are the requirements as described in the Dungeon Master Guide. The requirements in HotU will be different in some ways.

Yes! The Weapon Master at last! The class I've always wanted to play!

My 2nd time through HotU might be as a fighter/sorcerer going for the dragon disciple prestige class.

Always wanted to swing a sword, throw a fireball and then turn into a gigantic dragon.

The requirements for the Weapon Master are: (From the Sword & Fist Splatbook)

    BAB: +5
    Intimidate: 4 ranks
Proficiency: with weapon of your choice
Special: Must possess masterwork weapon of your choice, unless that weapon is 'unarmed'.
Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Combat Reflexes, Weapon Focus, Whirlwind attack, Dex 13+

The hefty feats means only human fighters will be viable for the Weapon Master at low levels. Phew.
Of course, things might change in the actual CRPG. We can only wait.
