Hmmm... the poll is a bit off

I just now checked on the poll results, and the majority is giving LotR:TTT a 5. I can see why some might, and though I think most of us here have read the LotR books, not all have. The movie was okay enough in itself, but the portrayal of Faramir and Eomyr were horrible. Faramir would have resisted the ring to the end! What is this crap about him falling under it's power? And what about the siege of Orthanc? What is this???!!! AN ATROCITY TO ALL OF MIDDLE EARTH, IT'S FANS AND TOLKIEN HIMSELF!!!

To correctly form opinions on it you must have read the book, and from the results, either everyone hasn't, or everyone has the brain of a 3 year old. But then again the poll is on the movie itself, which was great (albeit innaccurate). Most of the acting was great (Kudo's to Andy Serkin (Gollum)), the action superb, the dialogue taken almost straight from the book, you can't ask for much more than different actors for Faramir and Eomyr. Not really. You can very easily say if you liked LotR:TTT without reading the books, because the poll states: "If you have seen the second The Lord of the Rings movie, how would you rate it?" It doesn't ask for how good the film is compared to the books, it asks the opinion of people who've seen it.

Oh please spare me the drama. From the very first day it was known they were filming LotR, you could've known they couldn't have portrayed the books precisely. Now I agree they made changes they shouldn't have, but overall they did a great job.

For example, the elves at Helm's Deep. The only gripe I have with it, is that Haldir says he's sent by Elrond, while Haldir is one of Galadriel's captains. Other than that, it's a beautifull symbolisation of the alliance of old. I actually think of this as an improvement. They could've fleshened out Haldir's character a bit more in the movies though, because his death didn't really move me because I hardly knew him in-movie. It mattered greatly to Aragorn, but most of the audience has no idea why, because Haldir is just another random elf.

That someone has an opinion different than yours doesn't make them any less than you are.

I actually liked Eomer, excellently cast. What part of him/his role did you dislike? (Aside from the "Oh yeah, we killed your little friends, here have some horses" ) I don't like the way Faramir was portrayed, but that doesn't make the movie sucky. Personally I think it's worth a four. There are bad points, (Treebeard, Faramir, Osgiliath for example) but there are also very good ones: Gandalf fighting the Balrog and Gollum for example.
