[IMG] I did some back-reading and found out that there is no way to get HLAs in SoA unless ToB is installed.

So here is my question--Is this because of the near impossibility of creating the mod, or simply because no one has tried? I'm aching for some of those, like the thief item usability, etc.

You'd need an XP cap remover since the cap is 2.7 million iirc. Why not just add the expansion? Unless you don't have it or have it and can't be bothered to install it.

Just get ToB. It only makes SoA better.

Because there's no reason, at all, to try to duplicate vanilla game content (possibly even running the risk of a lawsuit). If you want HLAs, you get ToB; it's just that simple.

Tob really makes the game much better so there is no reason not to have it installed.

If you can't afford it ( :) ) there would probably be a much lower risk of getting a lawsuit if you downloaded it via bittorrent. However im not in anyt way advising you to do so, I'm merely pointing at the irony of such a scenario.

    A lawsuit? :D
Herve's got enough lawsuits to worry about another one.

    sigh...

All of that makes sense, particularly the lawsuit, but bittorrent stuff is unethical in my worldview, as it is theft. Also, I have little money and a wife who thinks "food" is more important than video games!

I had ToB at one point and beat it, but for some reason I no longer think to be rational, I decided to sell it in order to get a new game.

    I am an idiot.

The amusing part would be that it is probably easier and faster to go cutting lawns and car-cleaning for people to get the money for ToB than the effort you'd have to put in to make a mod like that.

Was the new game any good?

Some of the HLAs use opcodes that are only available with Throne of Bhaal (i.e. Use Any Item) so it's not just a matter of copying over resources anyway. The other problem is that SoA lacks a way to select HLAs at level-up--you'd have to do some cheesy dialogue/script workaround to select them instead.

The major irony, Decados, is that the game didn't even work on my computer. Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory I think. I installed it and it crashed my computer every time I tried to run it.

And as far as making a mod, don't make me laugh! I just started making items. Mods are WAY past my understanding at this point.
