    Just a quickie.

Who here has read His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman?

I have heard a few good things about this book and was just wondering what the guys here who have read it think of it?

I wanna be sure it's good before I part with my hard earned boola

I've read the first one. It's quite good, with many original ideas. However, I don't think (but then, I read it a long time ago now) that it came together as well as it could have.

The first two are great, I found. But then when it gets to the third one it starts to slow down a bit to much.
