Henchman items

    [​IMG] I'm on vacation this week so I finally finished SOU and have now started HotU :)

    I decided I wanted to go back to a melee character for HotU as I found my sorcerer from SOU kind of boring. I've taken Deekin with me as a henchmen in undermountain. I'm finding all sorts of scrolls and other items that a bard should be able to use, but I can't figure out how to get Deekin to use them? Is there a way? I would love to be able to have Deekin cast dispel magic scrolls and use some of the wands that I have found that are bard friendly.

    As far as I know, there's no way to make henchman actually use any items in their inventory, or that they have equipped. With the obvious exception of various potions and healing kits, that is.

    [​IMG] They will only use potions on themselves. I think you can also click on the Use option in the radial menu on the potion in their inventory, but the easiest way is just to grab a potion from anyone's inventory and drag it over to their portrait, and they'll use it. You can heal or buff them up like that even during battle.

    They should use healing potions or kits themselves automatically when their HP drop low, but in fierce battles, they can be too slow about it, so they need help.

    If they have healing kits in their inventory, you can use the "Heal Me" command on them from the radial menu (or through the keyboard shortcut), and they'll do it.

    I think I might have just used the most amazing cheat. I used dm_allspells to give my fighter the ability to cast spells. He still couldn't use the scroll, but he was able to cast dispel magic in the illusion room of level one (north) so I could get the treasure. That was really bugging me :)
