Help with "Oswald's spell"!

I have gotten all of the components for spell that oswald fiddlebender has that is supposed to reapair his stupid airship: 1.some wood 2.bottle of thrym extract 3.a smidgen of iron ore(a normal weapon[a short sword]) 4.TWO diamonds 5.Belladonna paste(the flower thing) 6. fresh spider silk! I have them all but when I talk to him there is no option to say that I do and even when I say "do you realize that your ship is damaged" he tells me to find the components and I only have the option to say "I'll return when I have the necessary components". I don't know what to do, can someone please help me.

 

You need to put all the components inside the table.

All you have to do is put them on the table!

There will be a flash of light to confirm that it took hold. Then, when you talk to him, he'll tell you he can feel it in his toes.

That's it. Forget about Oswald until way, way, way later. Don't both comming back to the airship, or waiting days for it to repair. You'll get to chapter 3 by another route.

But, by all means, have Oswald make you all the armour and boots that you want. And load out on the potions that you can carry. There may very well be a fight that you'll be wanting some explosive potions for; thar be caves ahead, matey!

If you put all your indegredients on the table, and there's no flash, then you have a bug in the game. Fear the bug.

When you can go to Chapter 3, go back to where Oswald's ship was. He'll have left a potion for you that can give you resistances to damage PERMANENTLY. Nice guy.

You can also give the items to that guy in the Ice Temple jail and he takes the items to Oswald. But only in the end after killing everyone.

 

Giving those to Oswald yields more XP than handing them over to Nathaniel. I don't know how much wood or silk you need, but that's the issue. Just put there everything you have and wait for the flash.

Another spoiler for this location: don't give information about Temple to Zach until you've cleared it out. This time I received some 3100 XP instead of over 4000 IIRC.

 

i guess my game's buggin' i put all the stuff on the table (after trying to give it to Oswald to no avail) and nothing, no flash of light, no exp points, no nothing. What the heck? and yes, i had all the items, in fact i've got more wood & whatever potion that is than is called for. what do i do now? do i just continue with the game and forget it or do i need to try & fix this?
sorry, i would read the walkthrough, but i like to play the game myself for as long as i can before resorting to a solution.

 

If there is some other stuff "on the table" the spell doesn't work.

 

Greenlion, You can't continue the game without fixing the ship. You need it later.

Pick everything off the table and try again. You only need one item of each, so leave it at that.

 

o.k. i guess i'll retreive my stuff from the table and try again, do i need to put oswald's book back on the table along with the other crap?

No. Don't put the book on the table. Just needed components.

 

Not sure if anyone else had this happen, but I couldn't get the repair spell to work using anything other than "Broken" armor, weapon, etc.

None of my "normal" weapons or armor would do the tick. Easiest place to get it was the dying militia captain, who even said "...some of his equipment might help."

Let us know how it goes.

 

I got it to work. i cleared the ice temple (1st level) then went back to the ship, did the same thing i did before and this time it worked. i don't know what the problem was and i used an axe i found not the broken stuff.
