[IMG] I'm in the part before you enter the mirror thingy to fight poquelin/Belafi-whatever. My characters are around level 12. I just loaded Heart of Winter at this point, what do I do? am I allowed to leave the Ice Fortress now that I'm in it, coz I don't have a saved game before coming into it. Someone said I could just complete the game, but If i do this there will just be a cinematic right? And I' not strong enough to kill poquelin without most of my party dying. I'd really appreciate any info at this point. Thanks

My understanding is that once you return to Easthaven there's no returning to Kuldahar. The only way to enter the expansion from IWD is through Kuldahar. The only way to play both IWD and the Expansion together would be to restore to a point before you entered Easthaven. You of course can start a game that is Expansion only after you finish IWD if you want.

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me. What I did was I killed Belfihet (??) and somehow it's set that all your characters are exported just before kickin B's arse, so you can go ahead and start a new game with expansion only. It'll say that you have already finished the game once and asks you if you wanna play HoW with those characters. Me, I realized my characters were too sucky to take on HoW so I just started a new game with both the normal Icewind Dale and the expansion. Hope this helps :)
