I couldn't deal with the tediousness of a four person party in HOF mode, and I quickly figured out as I attempted different characters that summon spells are ridiculously powerful in HOF mode. So, I decided to take a solo druid through the game, and play him as a summoner who provides ranged support to his critters. I started him as a Fighter, putting points into missile weapons, and quarterstaffs, since I heard there was a good one for druids... though i haven't come across it yet. At level three I put the new point into Missile Weapons, and then dual-classed to Druid. By now he is a 3/16 fighter/druid. Has three proficiency points into missile weapons, and has that halfling priest's sling with the +5 THACO. I left Kuldahar for Lonelywood very early on, before doing the Vale, and left HOW right after meeting the barbarian tribes, and before going to the Burial Isle. I'm attempting to play through Trials of the Luremaster.

If there is one thing TotL has taught me, it is this. HARPIES MUST DIE!!!!!!! I HATE those things. They totally annhilated me my first few tries, then I got lucky and got a summon off without being interrupted. After that(and a potion of clarity, i think it was), I wasted pretty much my entire repertoire of spells just killing THREE of them. I am slowly, very slowly, making progress. I have made it my personal goal to utterly destroy every harpy in existence in this place. HARPIES MUST DIE!!!!!

Well good luck with your life mission  . I agree harpies are truly a pain in the a** :flaming: .

    *minor spoiler*

Oh and be careful before entering one of those four towers because you might find your self in a pretty nasty situation if you could barely kill just three of them. ;)

Already found that one out, Keneth. I handled it... with a little spell called "Static Charge", and quite a few Heal spells. One cast of Resist Fear(or was it Remove Fear?) before going in, and the harpy wail is no worry... cast as many static charges as i can memorize, and when i get dangerously low on health, retreat out and use the Heal spell. It worked for me.
