I believe you blew it. You might be able to cheat in the body.

Cheating isn't always a bad thing, I'd recommend it also, the only other possibility I could think of is to forget harpers, so
    Cheat! :D

Another reason to why you should do this is the fact that you can't progress very far in the Jaheria romance if you don't hand the body in.

Stardust: You realize that you just said all other NPC's are better than Jaheira (all npc's [greater than sign] Jaheira)....

Another reason to do her quests is the Ring of Wizardry.

You really don't remember much of the quest. There are only two points where you can poison a pool, neither of those have anything to do with the Harpers.

They will still reward you for returning the dead body. I think you will still get Xan's quest afterwards. But the other quests that require Jaheira in the party... I'm not sure.

    Objection your honour.

While Jaheria does nag a fair bit, she is still a very useful NPC to have- though some people appear to simply assume that she is rubbish because of her personality. Besides, I'd rather have an NPC with a flaw that I wasn't keen on than an NPC with very little personality (eg Cernd).

As to the topic: If you lost or didn't take the body, then the Harper Quests are closed to you.

Even being truly evil, why would you keep a dying/dead body around? It's not like he's a key to a door or something.

You know for next time then - take the poisoned man to Rylock *immediately*.

Well then obviously if you didn't take the catalyst that the start of the quest is based around, then you won't be able to complete the quest.

well yeah thats pretty obvious if you re playing with the walkthrough guide but thats not the case except for some memories of my last attempt

without that how could you logically assume that such a small deed is the key to a much bigger quest which seems completely unrelated regarding the matter

You can think that way about the guild fights you see at night. Or Yoshimo.

Maybe because I'm inherently 'good', or I can think outside the game's perameters or I just want to see what will happen should I do it, I take the poisoned man to Rylock.

I have no need of a walkthrough guide to complete this game. You shouldn't really be surprised you got something wrong if you are relying on rather hazy memories to get through. ;)

The poisoned chap mentions that he needs to be taken to the Harpers- as no-one else really wants anything to do with them, that is the blatent clue that he is important. If you are unsure, try to imagine what the game designers would have wanted you to do- that way you'll generally complete more quests.

i dont recall that very line (maybe i went through the whole dialog a little too fast) the only hint being that after refusing to agree to his request jaheira tells you she finds your attitude disgusting, which eventually worked out as an encouragement to act that way (i just cant stand her :D )
