harper massacre?

    [​IMG] Whle i was doin some quests in the city someone came and told Jaheira that she had to leave to the HQ. A little while later Jaheira would come back and say that some guy in the harpers ´HQ wants to talk to me. So I went there and as soon as i got in there, Galvarrey (I think) would ask me some avatar questions and say that he has to imprison me. Well, since i had no choice i ended up killin everyone there. Is there a way to avoid this

    Oh well I got rid of Jaheira since she sucked at fighting and her spells weren't that good either.

    well hell yeah i am happy about the loot but i thought that there was something more to that story

    [​IMG] There is (Danger! encrypted spoiler!!!): Just keep Jaheira in your party and wait for the things to come, go to Umar hills for example, but the druid area should work fine either IIRC. :D

    [​IMG] I'm stuck at the bit where Galvarrey says he is going to imprison me. When I get attacked, I find that no combination of weapons/armour/spells....etc will allow me to win this battle.

    You may think I'm pathetic, but it's the first RPG I have played (and I'm lovin it!)

    [​IMG] Maybe you should leave it for later... I think it can wait.

    But with a good tactic, use of magic and some brute force you can easily win that fight.
    If you're not strong enough, summon in some monsters/elementals to help you out.
    Also cast every single protection spell you have on your characters. Don't be shy to use any potions that boost stats either.
    You'll wind up with way too many at the end of the game anyway, so use them all when you need them.

    After that... Try to get your characters out of harm's way (if the mage casts Cloudkill in the middle like it did for me). Run to the top of the hall or in the side rooms where the gas can't reach you and wait it out. You can use missile weapons and magic on them in the meanwhile and try to lure them somewhere where you'll be comfortable fighting them.

    It's all positioning and preparation really. And since you can reload if something goes wrong, you'll soon learn how to use your party to it's maximum efficiency. Presuming you HAVE a party, of course. If not, go recruit some NPCs. ;)

    I didn't get this the first time throuhg, 'cause I was romancing Jaheria, and that whole bit seemed to stall out.

    I suspected trouble before I went in, and so buffed everyone up a bit with bark and armor magic, then went in the door. I immediately paused and had some nasty spells coming their way. Unpaused, and the dialog began. When he finally stopped yammering and insulting me, those spells flew immediately. I dominated Galvarrey right off the bat, threw that insect swarm, and they went down like...toast.

    When I went through that ordeal I had the ring of earth control from Nalia's keep. The stupid mage summoned an earth elemental and after the thing proceeded to kill my party I reloaded and checked my inventory. Whoa that stupid ring was on Nalia's finger doing nothing but giving her a little ac boost. Lets just say the second time through the elemental had a change of heart and laid the other party low, then I killed it, woohoo. Of course this is the way to go if they summon an elemental on you, if not good luck.
