    Here's my favourite:
    Hubble Deep Space

    It covers about 1/30th of the diameter of the full moon from our point, and every spot contains about 100 billion stars...

    This is a close second, although it's not from Hubble but from Voyager 1 in 1991:
    Pale Blue Dot

    The Pale Blue Dot? That's the earth at a distance of 4 billion miles.

    They should replace the sensor on the Hubble already… They put one of the first widely available ones on it (I believe resolution of ca. 3 megapixels). Now they can easily replace it with a 25 megapixel one and get lower image noise as well…

    [​IMG] My favorite picture is M-51...It's a spiral galaxy colored gray and red...Awesome! Totally Awesome!

    I'm sad that Hubble won't be repaired, but the new Spitzer/Huygens telescope is pretty nice too! At least I think that's the name of it.

    The replacement for the Hubble is the James Webb Space Telescope set to launch in the 2012 time frame.

    It's difficult to repair/upgrade the Hubble when the Space Shuttle is grounded, and even when it flies again, they're restricting it to the Space Station orbit.
