what would be the best way for a good party to deal with the harpers and jahiera. i know this could be made into a pole but having only done the quest once i'm not to sure of all the options.

Exactly what do you mean by that Chris? Do you mean the whole quest in general or what? I'm confused!

I've only done the quest twice, and I think that Jaheira sides with you and you have to kill the Harpers every time. It might depend on the dialogue options you say to her, but I'm not sure.

For a good party, you will have to go to the harper hold with Jaheira. When there you have no choice but to kill the harpers. Always use common sense wth dialogues, and select thje nicest ones. After, at some point once again Dermin will come along so go with good dialogues. When you sleep outside, like at D'Arnise hold(outside) Jaheira will leave and go back to the harper hold. Go back after her, and be "Nice". Once again you have to kill some harpers. Leave with Jaheira, and a bit later Dermin will show with some more harpers. But Jaheira knows about the false claims So a fight is coming. After they are dead, Jaheira is sad but it had to be done. Quest done for good party.

Oh, and you might want to have your reputation around 15 or so. With a 15+, you can avoid fighting Revianne (wth her name is; she drops that +2 halberd) and her goons.

If you need tips on the fight, I suggest you take out the mages first... once they cast invisibilty, your mages will be semi-useless. Thief next, damn backstabber.

I remember just talking sh!t to Gavelery at the harper hold in Athkatla but when it came to Revianne I thought you had to be nice to her so that the 'real' harpers later confront you and you get the pin. Now I'm gettin confused though ...

If your Rep. is 9 or lower Jaheira will bolt on you when you face Gavelery and as kuemper said if your reputation around 15+ you can avoid fighting Revianne but I think you must fight Gavelery and Dermin no matter what.

Your reputation also determines whether she gets the Harper Pin -- at least I think so. Alignment might come into play.

In one game, playing a neutral PC with an average reputation (10? or so) she was confronted by Terminsel who asked "Answer me this: do you feel you have done the right thing in your heart" and Jaheirra was all "wellll... uh....." and he brushed her aside and left without giving her the pin. Oh well. :(

15+ reputation gets you the Harper Pin.
