[IMG] Oh, just had a LG Half Orc Morninglord of Lathander in my last party. For the fun of it. I noticed, when he casts a spell, there is no casting sound. You know, those cool voiced words of power are not heared. Why? This sucks. I know that some other members of monstrous races who cast spells, are not voiced as well. (like orc shamans, witch doctors, and goblinoid sorcerers and all) So game treats poor Half orcs as monsters too? Shame. Is it a bug and is there a way to fix it? Or is it intended to be like this?

Sucks. I will not create a HalfOrc caster ever again. I like the casting sounds soo much!

    Same here. Since they're half-orcs, they're treated as orcs. I don't think it's a bug of sorts.

Bleah, I do not like it the slightest. I guess I will ditch a half-orc caster. Thank you anyway!

There might be a reason behind it. If you've noticed, soundsets which are directly or indirectly specified for a half-orc (e.g. half-orc, barbarian, and the like) sound dumb. So it would be weird to hear a dyslexic half-orc suddenly sound like a knowledgeable sage when casting spells. The only decent half-orcs I've known are Daelan and the one from SoU.

But, when I create a learned Half-orc with 16 INT, or a very wise one with 18 WIS, for instance, I do not choose that silly half-orc voice or dumb fighter one, naturally....still....

Kind of a Half-orc stereotype, I guess... that's why they get -2 to int.
