Half Life/Counter Strike help

    Hello Guys
    I just got the Half Life platinum collection for Christmas.It came with Half life / Opposing Force/ Team Fortress Classic / Counter Strike and Blue Shift.
    I installed all the games and the following patches cs1005 and cs map pack.I also installed a half life patch but deleted from my desktop and cant remember what it was.
    Here is my promblem. All the games work fine on gamespy except counter strike.I get an error that says my version is different than server version.The wierd thing is when the game opens it Gamespy it say it is version 10001 but when I open it from my desktop it says it is version 10005.

    Help me please I am going crazy to play this game. :bang:

    Don't use gamespy. I've never used it and never will. On the other hand, I don't play CS that much. You get kind of bored with it after 2 years (especially since I'm the lousiest CS-player ever)...

    [​IMG] You'll be using the version of CS from the disc with the half life collection you got, which is the retail version. Don't. Instead download the full 1.5 version and install that, I know that in the UK most computer magazines have it on a cover disk, probably other countries too, maybe even Greyhawk ;)
    The reason that the retail CS and the downloadable CS are incompatiable still haven't been found out by me I was never that curious about it tbh, but getting the downloaded version should sort out most problems.
    One i keep getting is the server I play on keeps claiming a couple of my maps, from a clean install, nothing else added differs from the servers, even deleting it, and lettimng the server download it to me gets the message the next time I play the map. Typical eh? ;) :rolleyes:
