    [IMG] Thanks everyone! :) :) :)
I posted a message earlier about the guarded compound in the temple district. I had fought the tough fight and didn't know if it was quest related or not.
In the course of responding to my question, someone pointed out that CF was to be found on one of the fighters in the compound.
When I was retrieving the spoils, I MISSED CF (and the other gear that Koshi was carrying)!!!
When I read the post, I did not recall finding this sword. I checked my parties inventory, not there. I went back to the compound and sure enough it was on the floor (the bodies were gone).
I probably would not have realized my gaff for some time.
    Thanks!!!

Well the powerful katana IS a loot from Koshi. Koshi is on the second floor, there was a fight on the first AND on the second floor, have you checked the right floor? I don;t know if items also disappear, I thought bodies diappeared but the items should be still on the ground.

    What you miss:

    Celestrial Fury, Katana
    1d10+3
Combat Abilities: Booming Thunder, Stun unless save vs. spell when hit.
5% chance on doing 20 extra electrical damage.

A thief can use it and can also backstab with it.

I must not have been clear.
I fought defeated the group on the second floor. However, when I collected their gear, I missed Koshi. He was in a pile, and I didn't do an effective job of passing the cursor over the bodies to find stuff.
When I realized that I had missed this (based on the comments from the other thread), I went back, the bodies were gone, but the gear was still there.
    So I got CF! :)
    Thanks for all the help.

[IMG] Unfortunately, I dumped Yoshimo and he took CF with him. Now, I will have to get it from him. I guess I'll go the CC and have Korgan kill him or something. I didn't like that dude.

[IMG] Sure, here follows some combat tactics:

    Preparations:
    - Stoneskin or Ironskin should always be on your spellcasters, so that's not specific for this battle.
    - Long duration spells can be cast. Resist Fear, Chaotic Commands are examples. These aren't needed but if you got it why not use it?

    1st Round actions:
    - Aerie & Nalia: Web(s).
    - Druid: Insect Plague.
    - Keldorn: True Sight.
    - Mazzy: Haste herself.
    - Korgan: Attack, missile fire is preferred.

    2nd round actions:
    - Aerie & Nalia: Cast any of Cloudkill, Chaos, Hold Person or start using Magic Missiles/Chromatic Orb.
    - Druid: Spells or change to Sword Spider and go into the web. :)
    - Keldorn , Mazzy & Korgan: Attack.

Web and True Sight will make the enemies far less dangerous.

You could do it my way and just lob 14 sequenced fireballs just after a greater malison spell. That tends to take care of most things though. Does require allot of spell casters though.

After taking bad damage from traps up there I decided another tactic: march in (from the right stair), detect traps and detect invisibility.
I set the fighters on guard (to prevent them from running into the traps) and concntrated missile fire on Koshi (a shame that kensais are *so* vulnerable to missiles :D ) and on the backstabber. A quick cloudkill took care of the spellcasters.
Then I disarmed the trap and killed the rest.

LOOK OUT FOR THE TRAPS THERE, MAN!!!!

At the entrance, at both sides, there are two traps. One that just does damage. The other does damage and holds you if you fail your save. So don't go just barging in on them, except if you've got some strong fighters, like Korgan and Keldorn, which you have. They can walk through thew traps without having much hitpoints lost.

I defeated them with a party of an avarage lvl 8. Here's what I did:

    0. (optional) set traps downstairs if you don't think that's cheesy.
    1. Go upstairs so they can see you.
    2. Go back downstairs.
    3. One or two will follow you, and kill them one at a time. You also won't have to deal with the pesky traps and the mage, since it is further in the fog of war.
    4. Go back upstairs, get rid of the traps and the remaining two (or three) guys.
