It must be a gnome illusionist/cleric with about 8 strenght and 10 constitution. He should be damn good running around with his cloak, sling and 3 or 4 hit points. Will carry you long. :D

Dragonsnake, could you drop the U letter and type you normally please? It's annoying and really un-cool.

As for going solo, a fighter/thief would probably be the only possible solution.

Going solo, you're going to have to carry around alot of crap to help you out...lots and lots of potions. That's alot of weight for one person, plus you're using up valuable inventory slots for treasure items.

As Tal said, a fighter/thief might be the best option, especially a dwarf (19 Con).

Too bad there's not a fighter/thief/mage/cleric multiclass available.

    A party of 2 might be a better choice...fighter/thief and a cleric/mage.

There have been a few discussions about this and Draco has posted his Fighter character (which I think went solo) in the IWD part of this site called Lord Draco Vlasavius:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD/index_editors.php

Earlier posts (including some from people who have managed to complete the game solo) include:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000292.html
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000354.html
    http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000511.html

Personaly speaking - what about a Dwarven Cleric - high constitution, self healing, OK fighting, you can detect traps (if not disarm), get Good armour and some offensive and defensive spells.

i started a solo game just for a try and i was a druid with 17 CON and the wolf killed me... man is that sad...

    EDIT
    what about a mage/thief?

[Dudette, please, edit your first post rather than making a new on for things like this. Haven't I asked you to do this already? BTA]

    (sorry 'bout that :D)
