Gloves Of Balance

I'm going through HotU as a Monk, and I'm trying to remember where to get the Gloves of Balance, +5 gauntlets which do 1d6 cold and 1d6 fire damage. I know they're in Undermountain, but it's been so long since I played that I can't remember where they are. :T

 

I believe there isn't a fixed place where you can find them, but there's a container in which they'll spawn if you have Weapon Focus: Unarmed and have a little luck. The container is on the first level, on the map with the fairy queen. If you take the south entrance from the centre to the fairy queen's map, you'll eventually chance upon 3 statues that you can turn in order to open a door. The container is behind that door. You need a little luck for these specific gloves to spawn, so save before opening the container, and reload until you get those gloves.

 

Yeah, that was it. I actually managed to miss that whole area. man, those gloves are a lot better than I remembered.

 

I picked these gloves up after defeating a blue dragon when I played a monk. I liked these gloves a lot. Very good set of gloves.
