[IMG] After wellknown Gothic and Surprise of the Year award winning Divine Divinity, it seems that we'll be getting our claws on another german RPG jewel called - Grom.

    When?
    - Now, if you live in Germany.
    - Just in few days if you're in UK.
    - If you're in USA... um, well, I haven't checked actually... :p

Anyway, it's not d&d, it's 3d, it's (the most important) cRPG, it promises much fun and I like what I've seen on it's site, otherwise I wouldn't write this.

    One more thing:
Grom does NOT have and will never have MP. I love it!

You may check what Grom looks like here:

    Go Germany!

P.S. Will someone with DSL check if that trailer there is worth of download? I'm on dial-up  :( :wail: Pleaseeeeee!!!

Check the link. It didn't work for me. Anyway I never managed to play Divine Divinity. I now might have to make some room for it. What's it closest to in terms of other games on the market?

Do you mean that intro flash movie? No, it's not worth the download, just a flying blimp at first and a few other pictures after with a few words along the bottom describing the story a bit. (Nazis trying to get some ancient weapon that can provide world domination out of Tibet, and only one person can stop them - GROM :) )

Nothing to do with the graphics of the game itself.

No I don't mean the intro!
    Skip it and choose "Download".

To get the game graphics you should click on "The Game" and then on "screenshots".

Frog, sorry, I'm unsure why it won't work for you.

The trailer's pretty good, but worth 50MB? Hard to say.

It starts and ends like the flash movie, but in between, there's lots of game footage, and I think many of the screenshots from the site are from the trailer. It gives a good feel for what you can do in the game; a good demonstration. So if you're interested in the game, I'd say it's pretty good.

The link decides to work now. Downloading Trailer. (1 1/2 minutes later) Viewing Trailer. (2 minutes later) Looks interesting. Reminds me of Commandos in a sense. Although the gameplay is a bit different. Pipe grenades are in, thats for sure. BTW it comes out in the US sometime in the 1st quarter. Currently downloading demo. (203.86 MB) :p

    edit:

I just finished the demo. Your some Polish dude (Grom) who does smuggling runs through Tibet. In the demo you get to fight ragheads, yeti's, (and at the end) nazi's. Took a little bit over an hour to play through. (Died a few times) I found out half-way through pausing the game in combat makes for better accuracy with the rifle. Otherwise your often times trying to click a moving target which usually results in a miss. Reloading your weapon is automatic, but leaves you defenseless. (Obviously) There were some strange mini games to be had as well. Dodging knifes, Boxing, some card game I didn't quite understand, and hitting spawning scarecrows.(weird) Very nice pre-rendered backgrounds, easy interface. Overall I had fun with it.
