    Hello all.

I'm new to this forums, but I'm also new to Icewind Dale 2 game.

Yesterday I bought ID2 and I installed it.
First thing I noticed (after game started, after party creation menu)was speed of game... My characters move very fast... too fast I'd say.
Everything move too fast. Second thing I noticed was when I saved game after 5minutes of gameplay. SaveGame menu told me something like: 11hours. As I remember from other games this should mean how long do I play game. But I played only 5minutes, and it show 11hours? That's the second thing what makes me think: game runs too fast.

    My PC config is:
AMD 2x 64 4400+, 2GB DDRAM, nVidia GF7800GTX... I'm not sure... Maybe my PC is too fast for so old game? Or maybe I need to change some settings.

Does anyone of you had any problems like that?

    Thanks and cya.

Run your IWD 2 Configuration. (find it:program Files-Black Isle-Iwd2) And look at your frame rate. 30 updates per second is normal. If it is 50-60, game runs too fast. This could be your problem. Set it to 30 or lower; restart your game, and tell us if it works. Hopefully this will work, if not, I have no clue.

In addition, when you save it is game-time NOT real-time. I think the Prologue starts at 8 hours anyway.
The manual states "a game day (representing 24 hours in the game) is just over 2 hours in real time".

3 hours in 5 minutes is a little quick though!

I feel compelled to highjack this thread.

In 3E, a combat round is six seconds. So you can attack once (or more at higher levels) every six seconds. IWD2 seems to follow this reasonably closely in real-time. *But* the "hours" in the globe go by much faster than real-time. Like DaRock said, they seem to be ten or twelve times as fast. This leaves me to conclude that, despite what the game says, a round in IWD2-world is actually 60 seconds, like it was in 2E.

Spell casting, attacks and all the rest work within the six second round in IWDII, same as with BG.

    EDIT:

Ok. I set FPS to 30 and it works fine.
    Thanks a lot.
But one thing is strange... If 30fps is default - why I had 60fps in settings? Only I use this PC ;/

Maybe I was so stupid to max it from 30 to 60...
    omg ;/

Heheh. Again - Thanks a lot. It all works fine now. I'm very very happy.

Decados, six seconds in real time, but more like 60 seconds of globe-time.
