Hello all, I just received the Icewind Dale 2 game. I've tried to look up the problem here but could not find a possible solution.

Here is the problem I am experiencing

Game always crashes at the same spot, when I reach the Appearance tab while trying to build the first or second character. Have never been able to complete building the second character.

I have the following compatibility setting.: Windows 95, Windows 98/WindowsMc, NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) and 2000.

I have tried each setting and each time the game crashes to the desk top. I’ve also tried the Automatic compatibility setting, same result.

    Any other suggestions?

Video Card: All-In- Wonder 9600 Series
    Sound Card: Unknown
Hard Drive size 180 GB / Free space 24 GB

    Installation Type: Recommended
Retail version – Icewind Dale 2 - The Ultimate Collection

    Many thanks for your consideration.

I'd start by checking the graphics settings in the configuration program. Try fiddling with them and make sure you use the "Test" button liberally.

Other than graphics, do you have any mods installed? And I'm sure you've already installed the latest (2.01) patch for the game?
