    [IMG] Yo.

After my disappointing jaunt through Kirkwall, I decided to go back through Origins with a smattering of the most highly-rated mods installed. One of which is the Character Respecialization mod, which puts a little raven in various locations in the game (Ostegar camp, Flemeth's Hut, and Party Camp) with a potion tied to its leg. Taking the potion essentially sets your character at level 1 with all experience intact and all stats, specializations, skills and talents reset to your total, allowing you to completely re-level the character, placing those points wherever you want. This works on any character.

I've been having fun making the excellent companions a little more customizable. As a fan of knight-type characters, my PC is a human noble tank. I respec-ed Alistair to be a two-hander, Morrigan to be a Spirit Healer (as I think Shapeshifting is pretty lame), Sten to be a dual-wielding warrior (inspired by the Arishok in DA2). I've so far left Leliana alone, though when I get Wynne I may make her an Arcane Warrior. Oghren will likely go the dual-wielder Berserker route when I get to Orzammar (usually the last treaty quest I do).

The current party is basically the Sacred Ashes party - male PC tank Warden, Sten, Leliana and Morrigan. Sten is simply a badass as a dual-wielder. In fact, by the time I got him, I had enough experience that when I respec-ed him, he had enough talents that I could fill up almost the entire dual-wield tree right out of the gate. Once I get his DEX high enough to get Dual Weapon Mastery (and thus, the ability to wield two main-hand weapons) he'll be fierce indeed. Right now he's doing pretty well with Ser Garlen's Sword main hand and Thorn of the Dead Gods off-hand.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Anyone else ever tried this?

Not as extensively as you, but I did respec Leliana to be a focused dual wielding rogue once. I also built Wynne up as an arcane warrior in the same runthrough, but as I recall, I didn't do a respec on her. As I recall, I had her wearing Cailan's armor throughout most of the game, as it was a pretty low stamina hit for a suit of full plate. She looked awesome! Fun stuff.

    It's a great mod!

I've used it quite a bit in my (halfway) first runthrough of the game this month. I know, only 2 years late. Minor changes though, nothing to break the mould of the main character. Even less on companions, think only on Zevran to make him unlock spec'd early on, not having to wait 4 levels.

One thing that you need to be mindful of, if you decide you care about it that is. Any permanent attribute bonuses your character receives (Fade and it's ilk) get "freed" when you gulp the potion. So if you toss all points into one attribute, say magic on a mage, you're basically cheating. Or severely misinterpreting game's intent , w/e :)

Also, the amount of potions is unlimited. Which i only noticed near end of the game, after dragging it as an inventory spot through innumerable occasions of "What do i destroy now to loot this?"
You can only get it from the raven if you don't have one in inventory at the time though.
