Full Install Problem

    Hmmm... I'm not sure why this is happening. I recently attempted a full install of BG1. As I'm sure many of you remember, it requires you to insert each CD multiple times. It ran through the first cycle without any difficulties, however, when I inserted CD1 for the second time, it ran the CD instead of completing the install. So it started playing the initial movie, for Torment, but of course, since it had not completed the install, the game is still unplayable. I went back through and did the minimum installation, and the game works OK, but I would obviously prefer to have a full install to avoid having to constantly switch CDs. Has anyone else experience this problem? And more useful to me, has anyone else found a solution to this?

    Disabling auto-play should work... though even if the game did run after you put the CD in, the installation program in the background should still have been running?

    You can also Copy all the CDS onto the Harddrive, and install from there (just keep cd1 in the drive) It will automatically set the path from the place on the Harddrive you installed from. And then pick either minimum or recomended. Takes about the same space, and All files are on HD. Or you could do a full install from there, and then delete the folder with the CD's (remember to change the paths in baldurs.ini afterwards to reflect the CDrom).
