    [IMG] Hi all...

I've come across a limitation in the game that is preventing me from completing one of the small side-quests. When I'm searching for the cure to Jan's neice's illness, I'm sent to talk to The Thumb in the tavern in the Docks. Unfortunately, weeks before (in game time) Yoshimo had gotten noticed pick-pocketing in that tavern and we all left immediately without re-doing it. So, everyone in the tavern, including The Thumb, is an enemy.

I tried the Friends spell, but a charisma of 24 didn't do anything to help, nor did a Charm Person spell. If magic or high charisma won't help, I dunno what to do...in a "real" situation it might be possible to reason with, bribe or in some other way mollify The Thumb or any irritated NPC, but in BG2 it seems that the "neutral/enemy" switch is an all-or-nothing one way street kind of thing.

My question is, is there *ANY* way to reset the tavern patrons or any incidental NPC to "neutral" status once they've gotten angry with you for one reason or another? If the answer is no, then I'm afraid Jan's poor niece is doomed...

[IMG] No mixing evil path with later good, pal!

There is no way to turn the hostiles again on neutral. You cooked it, now you eat it.

The only way to help the poor child now is: CHEATING. Are you a cheater? If you are, someone (probably me) will tell you which global variable should you set on what value and where to go after that.
Is cheating good for health then? No. You just can't accept responsibility for your actions - so you cheat.
And that is nice and good?
For a game, bah, do what you want.
For a life, not bloody likely.
